Rep. Doug Pickett elected Assistant Majority Leader for state House

State Rep. Doug Pickett, R-Oakley, is the new Assistant Majority Leader of the state House of Representatives. Pickett was elected to the leadership position today by the House Republican Caucus. He replaces Rep. Josh Tanner, R-Eagle, who last week was named Co-Chair of the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee.

“As a member of leadership, I’ll continue to work for the best interests of all Idahoans and to defend conservative values. It’s an honor to be chosen for this position, and I look forward to serving the people of this great state.”

The state Legislature’s 2026 session begins tomorrow, Jan. 12.
